The Gleneagles Hotel, just one hour's drive from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, was built by the Old Caledonian Railway Company in 1924 in the heart of a beautiful Scottish glen. Set in an 850-acre estate with its own railway station, it immediately won fame as one of the world's finest hotels.

Renowned for its three championship golf courses - The PGA Centenary Course, created by the legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, venue for the Ryder Cup 2014 - as well as the King's and Queen's Courses. All offer generous fairways, big greens, challenges for all handicaps and superb views of the surrounding countryside.

As well as golf, there are many other sporting opportunities at Gleneagles. The shooting and fishing schools offer clay target shooting and trout fishing on three lochs within the resort’s estate. The equestrian school provides coaching in all disciplines.

There is all weather tennis, squash, swimming, croquet, cycling, off-road driving, the opportunity for guests to fly Harris hawks at the falconry school or learn how to handle gundogs in the field at The Gundog School, the first of its kind anywhere in the world. To relax there’s an exquisite spa with all the latest therapeutic treatments. The hotel has four restaurants, including two Michelin Star Restaurant Andrew Fairlie, the only restaurant in Scotland to hold such status.

Gleneagles is renowned for a level of luxury and a range of amenities that few in the world can match. 2007 saw great change at the hotel as exciting new areas were revealed for the first time. Guests can discover new ways to dine at Deseo, an emporium of ever changing culinary delights, indulge in the ultimate in elegance and luxury in the Spirit Suites or book some child-friendly time courtesy of the brand-new playroom and The Zone.

The Spa at Gleneagles by ESPA opened in 2008. A place of tranquility and harmony, where guests can indulge both body and mind. The new 22,000 sq ft spa features 20 treatment rooms; heat experiences and a beautiful relaxation space and is a destination in its own right.

The hotel itself is a byword for style, elegance and comfort. Gleneagles is a sanctuary from the modern world, offering the best of Scotland every day of the year.
