Royal Troon - Scotland
Dating back to 1878, this is one of the great links courses in Scotland. The Old Course is a challenging test of golfing ability. With the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential. Players should make their scores on the outward nine, as the prevailing north-westerly wind can make the back nine extremely difficult.

It has already hosted the Open Championship eight times, with winners including Arnold Palmer, Tom Weiskopf, and Tom Watson. It will return in 2016 for the 145th Championship. It has also hosted the Senior Open Championship, and other tournaments, both amateur and professional, too numerous to list.

Past open Championships and winners at Royal Troon

2004 – Todd Hamilton
1997 – Justin Leonard
1989 – Marc Calcavecchia
