SAN ROGUE - OLD COURSE

Host to the 2005 Spanish Open, San Roque Old is situated in the foothills of the Sierra Bermeja, where the mountains meet the sea. Opened in 1965 and designed by Dave Thomas with bunkers redesigned by Seve Ballesteros. The Old Course is rated amongst the finest in Europe. It measures 6614 yards and is a par 72. For many years it has played host to memorable moments for young pretenders and old campaigners alike. The course's tight, sloping fairways are lined by mature cork oak trees - demanding straight, accurate driving. Strategic bunker placement and deceptive water hazards threaten all but the most precise approach shots.
